Gongfu

This sheng puerh cake is from the late 1980s or early 1990s (we aren't sure). It is meant to replicate the famous Tong Xing cake of the 1930s. It was stored mostly in Hong Kong, so it is a bit wetter. This old tea has beautiful energy and a delicious aroma and fragrance. It is an affordable way to try some aged puerh. Most famous vintages of this time period are much, much more expensive. What attracts us to this cake is not its tenuous relationship to famous Antique Era cakes, but rather the price/quality ratio, which is always the bottom line. While the cake has an unknown vintage (to the date) and also some wet storage, the price reflects that and what you get for the price is very nice, indeed. In the end, that is all that matters...
