Qilin is a wonderful daily shou puerh from 2021. It comes from the same region and farm as Dragon Turtle, from Puerh Prefecture, just north of Puerh city. It was grown at around 1500 meters and then piled for around forty-five days in the spring of 2021. This tea, however, is a higher “grade,” meaning it contains more buds. In fact, Qilin is an all-bud, “gong ting” tea and is the highest grade from this farm. Qilin is thick and dark, like Dragon Turtle, but much more sweet, with hints of berries and chocolate. It is perhaps less deep, though more delicious. It has an earthy, grounding energy. It is wonderful for drinking, aging or blending with aged shou teas. This would make a nice base for a lot of blends.
Each bag is 200 grams.
