Hexagonal Jian Shui

This hexagonal waste water basin (jian shui) is handmade from authentic Yixing clay. It was designed based on one of our favorite shapes of jian shui that was common in Taiwan during the 1980s. It was made for gongfu tea, of course, but since it can hold about a liter, it is also nice for bowl tea sessions as well. The round bottom and hexagonal top are difficult to produce, and have cosmic significance similar to traditional Chinese coins which were round with a square hole in the center, representing Heaven and Earth (amongst other things).
