Jade Seal
This is an amazing chance to taste some very well-aged oolong tea. Jade Seal is an early-1980s oolong from the Mei Shan area of Taiwan. It has two amazing qualities: Firstly, it is very old, offering us the chance to taste a vintage oolong; and, secondly, it comes from a cleaner time without agrochemicals. The processing was done by hand and traditionally roasted. You can tell that it is hand-processed by the looser balls and irregular shapes.
Most oolong tea this old was not intentionally stored, and Jade Seal is no exception. This means it was not kept in a sealed jar by tea lovers trying to age their tea, but rather leftover in a farm or shop. Often such teas are kept in bags and therefore exposed to oxygen and humidity. However, Jade Seal has been in a shop, properly stored in jars, since the early 2000s, which has corrected much of the storage issues.
Jade Seal has a rich, deep liquor and incredibly powerful Qi. It is a wonderful doorway through time and space. This is a tea for the top shelf!
We are offering 35 grams of this sublime tea in a crackled celadon jar.
