Snowy River

We love tea from Big Snow Mountain. It is deep and rich and many of the gardens there boast old trees. Some scholars believe Da Xue Shan to be within the region where all tea originates. The cakes produced by the Shuang Jiang Mengku Rongshi factory in the early 2000s are mostly all clean and from nice, old-growth gardens. There is a huge variety in terms of quality, though we have found that the Big Snow Mountain cakes from between 2004 and 2006 are all excellent provided the storage is good. This is a 2006 cake that is gorgeous. It was cleanly stored in Malaysia from 2006 until now. The liquor is thick, rich and has a strong earthy Qi. If you like Big Snow Mountain cakes, this is a great example.
