Cloud Cauldron
We have finally finished our long-term project to create new Cloud Cauldrons for boiling tea. We are very happy with the results. These cauldrons are wonderful for boiling tea and can be used on different heat sources, allowing you to use gas, alcohol or ideally charcoal to keep the water boiling.
Boiling tea is one of our favorite pastimes. There is nothing better than a long afternoon spent boiling some tea. We often serve boiled tea roadside to passersby. This is one of the best ways to serve tea, as you don’t have to worry about later steepings being less concentrated than earlier ones—the tea just gets better and better over time! We love to boil sheng puerh (young or aged), shou puerh and black tea (hei cha) especially, but we have also been known to boil green tea and even oolong (especially Yancha). Check out our Boiled Tea course if you would like to learn more about this wonderful brewing method.
Each set comes with iron rings to lift the cauldron off the brazier when it is hot though please be mindful to remove the rings after moving the cauldron as these can get quite hot if left attached during the tea session.
We are also offering a beautiful handmade ladle by Chen Qi Nan with these cauldrons or without a ladle if you already have one. Chen Qi Nan's ladles, much like the rest of his teaware, has a wonderful energy and will slowly season and darken over many, many boiled tea session.
This cauldron holds approximately 2.2L when filled to a comfortable level for boiling tea.
