Delight

These amazing mini cakes are from around the year 2004 or 2005. We call them Delight because they are from the same trees and garden as one of our favorite Dian Hong teas of all time, Joy (from 2001). It is rare to find old-arbor tea in the form of mini, single serving cakes. They are tightly compressed and therefore require a longer rinse and first steep. When they open, though, they are delicious—delicate, sweet and expansive with notes of chocolate. The energy is Yin, soft and heart-opening as the name suggests.
