Iron Staff

Iron Staff is an amazing iron discus cake from 2007. They say that Zen is an 100-km iron staff, guiding our journey. This cake is called “100 mountains” in Chinese because it is composed of the old-growth leftovers of a set from many mountains through Yunnan. Most blended tea is done so for flavor or ageability—intentionally crafting a cake out of tea from specifically chosen regions that compliment one another. In this case, the teas were gathered in a journey meant to celebrate the unique characteristics of many mountains. Even though it wasn’t blended intentionally, this cake turned out spectacular. It is smooth and clean, from old-growth trees and has a bright, earthy Qi. The age has done it well. It has transformed slowly due to the compression. It has a thick, open liquor with a bold aftertaste. This is a great candidate for storage or for drinking.
