Dhyana is a wonderful way to enjoy some ancient-tree tea at a more affordable price. This comes from the same old-growth trees as Blessing from Feng Qing, but Dhyana is the pruning of mature, late-season leaves (sometimes called “huang pian”). The farmers only harvest the trees once every few years to allow them to stay healthy, but sometimes prune some of the off-season trees. Huang pian tea like this is thinner than tea, but is still powerful and delicious. It is more Yin than its tippy counterparts with a smooth flavor and soft Qi. It also ages faster, making it a good candidate for storage. The owners of these trees are students of Ajahn Chah and one of them is an artist, so we asked him to use one of his paintings as the wrapper, lending the tea good blessings for health, meditation and peace on Earth.
