Fireside is a rare powdered Hojicha. Hojicha is a traditional Japanese tea that is processed very uniquely. It is charcoal roasted instead of steaming like most Japanese tea. It tastes more like a traditionally-processed tieguanyin with heavy roast. They say the tradition started when a farmer in Kyoto roasted some low-grade and unsellable bancha (“common tea”) and people enjoyed it. Fireside was produced organically, with natural farming methods. Fireside is then ground like matcha for whisking. It whisks into a beautiful, warming and comforting creamy bowl of goodness that spreads warmth from the inside like a good aged puerh, with a grounding and warming Qi that centers you while providing a Yang fire that makes this tea good for a morning before a busy day as well.
Each tin is 40 grams.
