Puerh Tray

Puerh trays are designed to be used when breaking up a puerh cake or any kind of compressed tea. The tray catches the broken-up tea leaves and the opening conveniently funnels the leaves onto a tea scoop, keeping your tea space clean, organized and functional.

Most puerh trays are square, joined with glue and often made of materials that aren't ideal for tea. The leaves get stuck in the corners, so they never function well in our experience. Wu De therefore designed a round puerh tray with walls that flare outward and a smooth, gently curved opening. No corners and no glue, just natural material and curved surfaces. These trays are made for us in Taiwan from white beech (白山毛欅), a pale, fine-grained hardwood long used for kitchen boards and utensils because it is durable and gentle in aroma. The inside is polished smooth, making cleanup after breaking a cake almost effortless.
