This teapot was made for our 2026 Annual Tea Trip in Taiwan by Master Zhou Qi Kun's Wu Xing Shan Fang studio in Yixing. Master Zhou is one of our teachers. The base is carved with 茶之旅, "tea journey," alongside the Global Tea Hut seal and the year, and the maker's seal is pressed into the handle.

The shape is a Duo Qiu (掇球), or "Chopped Ball," pot. It is meant to look as though it were made from the slices of one perfect orb, cut up and rearranged with skill, and you can see that sphere echoed in the rounds of the body, the lid and the knob. The style began in the mid-Qing Dynasty and has grown into a whole family of Yixing pots with many variations. This one is full and steady, with two fine rings where the lid meets the body and a short spout. The round body gives the leaves room to open, and the generous size makes it a good pot for serving a full table.

It is made from zisha (purple-sand) clay with a fine, matte surface that will soften into a gentle sheen with use. It comes in a teal cloth-covered box and a printed cloth bag. The box carries the Global Tea Hut seal and the Chinese for Light Meets Life, 光壽無量.

The volume of this teapot is 350ml.
