This beautiful cake is amongst the best dian hong teas we have ever tried. It comes from old-growth trees on Big Snow Mountain (Da Xue Shan) harvested in 2008. It was oxidized rather lightly for a red tea, leaving some of the sheng energy to transform over time. We find that less withering is often ideal for old-growth raw material as it preserves more of the forest energy of the leaves. This tea has been stored very cleanly. It is sweet, chocolatey, bright and very uplifting with a powerful energy.
