Wabi Emerald Lake Bowls
$25.00
These handmade bowls are made by Luo Wei (羅偉) here in Taiwan, with clay from our own Miaoli county, which has a long history with clay and pottery. Sisters to our Emerald Lake Bowls, they share the same grayish glaze within and soft greens without, but this series embraces wabi more fully: the glaze pools and breaks more freely, and each bowl carries more of the kiln's own marks. Those who love quiet imperfection will feel at home here. Variations in color and shape are part of their character, though each set is carefully chosen to match as much as possible.
Each set of five bowls comes with two hand-sewn cloths made by a seamstress here in Miaoli. One is a long white strip that is woven between the bowls from left to right and back, offering each bowl padding and protection for transportation. Then a square of Japanese cloth (in various patterns and colors) is used to bundle up the bowls so you can grab them and take them out with you.
These handmade bowls hold approximately 180ml.
