Year of the Fire Horse Chabu

One of a small batch Alina is weaving to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse.

Alina Olegovna Zakharova handweaves her chabu from bamboo, cotton and wool, some with silver or gold thread worked into the design. Each takes up to two weeks between the weaving and the embroidery, and she is always searching out new materials and ideas for the next one.

This one measures approximately 109 by 33 cm, well suited to bowl tea sessions.

It comes with its own cover, which protects the finer bamboo sticks woven through it during storage and transport.
